Our journey
Excellent education with a social commitment
The São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty was born from the dream of a group of dental surgeons and doctors who, meeting informally since 1972, sought to continuously improve their knowledge and clinical practices.
Over the years, this movement has transformed into a solid higher education institution, recognized by the Ministry of Education as a national benchmark in the health field, and committed to the comprehensive education of its students.
Today, Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic offers undergraduate degrees in Medicine and Dentistry, as well as lato and stricto sensu postgraduate programs, bringing together high-level clinical, laboratory, and academic infrastructure in 12 units spread across Brazil and Portugal.

What began as an informal study group in 1972 has transformed into one of the most respected higher education institutions in the health field in Brazil.

Origin in study groups
The journey began with an informal group of dentists and physicians who gathered to study and discuss clinical cases.
1978
Foundation of the Frei Leopoldo Mandic Center for Studies
A center dedicated to studies, research, courses, and scientific events in Dentistry was created.
1997
São Leopoldo Mandic Dental Research Center
The institution began offering advanced and specialized courses in different areas of dentistry.
1998
Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Dentistry
Graduate programs recognized by CAPES (Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education) have been created, focusing on scientific research of excellence.
2003
Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry
The Dentistry degree program has become part of Mandic as an innovative course with great added value.
2009
Best higher education institution for healthcare in the country
The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) recognized São Leopoldo Mandic as the best higher education institution in the health field in Brazil in the IGC/2008 (General Course Index).
2013
Medical degree approved with top marks
The undergraduate medical program was approved by the MEC (Brazilian Ministry of Education) with the highest possible score, solidifying its excellence in the medical field.
2015
São Leopoldo Mandic College
The institution was renamed Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, reflecting its evolution and scope.
2017
Expansion and new structures
Inauguration of the MED MANDIC Clinic-School and new medical school in Araras.
2019
Mandic Digital
The innovative prosthetics laboratory has started using 3D CAD/CAM technology to produce high-tech dental prostheses.
2020
Sertão Medical School
The Mandic Group inaugurated the Sertão Medical School in Arcoverde, in the heart of the Pernambuco hinterland.
2023
New units in Brazil and Portugal
New medical degree programs were inaugurated in Limeira and Greater Vitória, in addition to a postgraduate dentistry program in Portugal.
