Postdoctoral research is a human resource development activity aimed at conducting advanced studies after a doctorate, enabling professors and researchers to develop projects in partnership with national and international institutions.

About the Program

Post-Doctoral Internship

The postdoctoral program at São Leopoldo Mandic is an optional career development step for professors and researchers who have already completed their doctorate. It enables advanced studies and the development of joint research projects with national and international partner institutions.

The candidate must submit a research project with a supervising professor accredited as a permanent faculty member of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry (academic modality), who has supervised a completed doctoral thesis.

Monitoring is carried out by the Graduate Program Committee, which is responsible for analyzing and approving submitted projects, ensuring alignment with the institution's research lines and the scientific productivity of the supervisor.

The internship has a minimum duration of 6 (six) months and a maximum of 2 (two) years, and may be extended for up to 3 (three) years in total, subject to evaluation and approval by the institution's Executive Council.

Admission Requirements

Who can apply?

To be admitted to the program, the candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Holding a doctoral degree obtained from programs recognized by CAPES

  • Or hold a doctoral degree obtained from duly recognized foreign institutions

  • To have experience and scientific output compatible with the proposed project

  • To have a research project supervised by a permanent faculty member of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry (academic modality)

  • The advisor must have completed doctoral supervision

  • Having one's own financial resources to fund research activities

How to join

Application process

  1. 1

    Choose a supervisor

    Identify a professor accredited as a permanent faculty member of the Postgraduate Program in Dentistry (academic modality) who has supervised a completed doctoral thesis and who is willing to supervise your project.

  2. 2

    Develop your research project

    Develop a program of activities with a detailed research project, aligned with the research lines of the advisor and the institution. The project must demonstrate scientific output compatible with the proposed scope.

    Gather the documentation

    Organize all the required documents: letter of request to the Coordinator, doctoral diploma, Lattes curriculum (or CV for foreigners), letter of acceptance from the supervisor, and statement of availability of resources.

    Submit your application

    Please send all documentation by email to flavia.faria@slmandic.edu.br. The Graduate Program Committee will analyze the project and communicate the result.

  5. 5

    Make the payment of the fee

    After the project is approved by the Committee, pay the academic fee of R$ 2,000.00 to formalize your enrollment and begin your activities.

The application must be formalized by sending the following documents:

  • Letter to the Coordinator requesting enrollment in the postdoctoral program

  • Doctorate Diploma (authenticated)

  • Program of Activities with detailed Research Project

  • Updated Lattes Curriculum (for Brazilian candidates)

  • Curriculum Vitae (for foreign candidates)

  • Letter of acceptance and acceptance from the supervising professor

  • Declaration of availability of time and financial resources for the execution of the project
